Commissions
A piece composed for your brief rather than filled into a template — and fully editable afterwards, like everything else.
One-of-one commissions are part of custom design, included with the Signature membership. Template pieces, and edits to commissions you already have, stay available on every plan.
What a commission is
Every other Studio piece fills your words into a designed template. A commission is designed for your brief — the composition, the hierarchy, the placement of the photograph and the type are all decided for this piece.
Useful when what you want does not match any template: an anniversary card for a past client, a piece for an unusual event, a stack that has to carry three things at once.
Commissioning one
From the commission desk card on the Studio page. Describe what you want.
A spring open house at 14 Ridgewood Lane, Sunday the 12th, two to four. Understated, garden-forward, room for the address at the bottom.

It takes half a minute or so — longer than a template piece, because it is being composed rather than filled. When it is done you land in the workbench with it.
Editing it
Exactly like any other piece. Every line is click-to-edit, the floating toolbar works, formats and grounds and photographs all behave normally.
The lines are labelled Line 1, Line 2 and so on rather than by slot name, because a commission has no fixed slots — that is the point.
Re-composing
Ask for another pass on an existing commission and the same piece is recomposed rather than a second one created. Useful when the brief was right but the result was not.
What it draws on
- Your brand — colours, typefaces, logo, headshot.
- The listing, if you anchored one — its real facts and its own photographs.
- Your image library, by label.
- The house collection, but only when no listing is anchored. A piece about a specific property is never offered a photograph of a different one.
