Adding listings
Connect an MLS feed and they arrive on their own. Add the rest by hand, or just describe them to Elle.
Connecting an MLS feed
On the Listings page, add a feed. Once connected, your listings arrive with their photographs and stay in step with the MLS record.
Syncing happens by itself:
- When you open the Listings page, if the feed has not been checked in the last quarter hour.
- Before your morning briefing is composed, so overnight listings are in the 7am email.
You do not need to press anything.
It adds listings that are new, updates ones that changed, reconciles photographs without disturbing any you have hidden or reordered, and marks listings that have vanished from the feed. It also allocates a web address for each new listing, so feed listings are publicly viewable the moment they arrive.
Adding one by hand
Listings → New. The required facts are short: address, city, state, price. Everything else — bedrooms, bathrooms, square footage, description — can come later or never.
Asking Elle
Fastest of the three:
Add a listing at 14 Ridgewood Lane, Houston, four bed, three bath, asking two point one five.
If she is missing something she needs, she asks for all of it in one round rather than interrogating you field by field.
She can create the listing from a photograph too — text her a picture of the house with the address and she will do both at once.
When the listing is created she also tells you how many of your buyers fit it, which is usually the next question anyway.
Editing
Open a listing and edit in place on the Details tab. Or ask:
Change the Ridgewood price to two point zero five.
Rewrite the description — warmer, lead with the garden.
On a feed listing, an edited field shows a Revert to MLS control.
Statuses
A listing’s status decides whether it appears publicly and whether it can be matched to buyers.
- Feed listings take their status from the MLS. Sold, expired, withdrawn and similar drop off your public site automatically.
- Manual listings take the status you give them. Only terminal statuses stop them from matching buyers — an “off market” manual listing stays matchable on purpose, because quiet inventory is still inventory.
Removing one
Manual listings can be deleted. Feed listings cannot — they belong to the MLS record. If one has gone, the feed will mark it and it will drop off your public surfaces on its own.
